Meet Your Neighbour: Serendipity Soy Candles

Serendipity Soy Candles has been on the move and rapidly growing since they first opened their doors in Collingwood in September of 2016.  Starting with one employee, the owner Jennifer Ageeb, they now have two locations in Collingwood, a total of 9 retail locations and over 50 employees. Unique to the retail location in Collingwood Downtown are candle making workshops where you can make your very own 100% natural and eco-friendly soy candles that smell absolutely amazing.

Jenn, who is originally from Canada, met her husband Bernard in the Bahamas when she was there visiting her mom.  Around the same time she was opening her business in the Bahamas, she learned the unfortunate news that her mother had received a cancer diagnosis.  Together they became enlightened to the sad reality that so many of the ingredients in the products we use on our bodies and in our homes can seriously harm our health. That reinforced their drive to create pure soy candles void of pollutants and carcinogens in a big way.

The family moved to Collingwood in 2016 because Jenn and Bernard decided that Collingwood would be a great place to raise their two sons Josh and Zach, and they thought that the community offered a great business opportunity.  “We loved the small town feel that we felt had big town opportunities for business growth.” recalls Jennifer.

Their factory and retail location on Hume Street in Collingwood is where all of the magic happens.  They have developed over 500 different scent profiles, and each and every soy candle is hand poured into over 20 different sizes ranging from tiny tea lights all the way up to their 20 wick designer collection candles.  Serendipity also offers Candle Making Kits and Custom Candle Boxes.

“We’re very proud to be able to offer our all natural soy candles at reasonable prices to both consumers and other local businesses. We have a wholesale candle program and we’re very grateful for the support we’ve received from other local small businesses who have allowed us the opportunity to create a custom candle line for their brand or store.” notes Jenn.

Whether you’re looking for the perfect scent to make your space more enjoyable or searching for a gift for someone special, you’ll find your scent at Serendipity.
